Our U15 Football Team have achieved the pinnacle of achievement in schools’ football by winning the English Schools' FA Cup Final for the very first time.
In a thrilling encounter against a very strong Ivybridge side, Wade Deacon came through 5-3 on penalties following a 1-1 stalemate at the end of full time at Lilleshall National Sports Centre in Shropshire.
This particular group of players have enjoyed phenomenal success during their Wade Deacon careers with the team remaining undefeated in all competitions, as well as being County Champions on two occasions - unbelievable achievements.
Our football success comes on the back of our Year 10 rugby team, who currently hold the title of National Champions in Rugby League with the us also boasting exceptional team and individual achievement in the fields of girls’ rugby, table tennis, dance and swimming.
Mr Campbell, Head of PE was naturally thrilled with the team’s success: “To achieve this is a fantastic achievement for the boys and is thoroughly deserved,” he said. “620 schools started out on this journey, so to come out on top is something special. I am so proud of the boys, as I am of all students who achieve so many great things here.”
